I am passionate about supporting students.

I have been a teacher since 2014, working with K-8 kids from diverse backgrounds. I earned my Masters in Teaching from Evergreen State College, and hold endorsements in English Language Learners, Reading, and Elementary Education.

I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl, organizing my younger siblings in front of my play chalkboard. Connecting with students in a real life classroom has been my joy; building relationships and watching the spark of understanding in their eyes as we spend our time together.

Before teaching, I spent ten years homeschooling my own four children, each with their own talents and challenges. One of my girls struggled to read for a long time. Another wanted to be immersed in science. I often wondered what I might be missing and whether or not I was doing enough of all the “right” things. Now, with combined my education and experience, I know I can answer those questions for your homeschool family.

Momentum Tutoring started to help your student find a way forward. Whatever their educational context, I’m excited to be a part of their learning journey.
